Our Programmes
Koru Foundation works at the intersection of zero-waste, education, and community empowerment. Each programme is designed to address a specific gap — and together, they form a complete vision of a more equitable, sustainable India.
India generates 1.43 lakh TPD of solid waste — and 98.2% of it goes completely untreated. Project Sanjeevani addresses this crisis through Recycle Stations in schools, source segregation in residential societies, community cleaning drives, and a system that brings dignity to frontline waste workers. We believe a zero-waste city is built one neighbourhood at a time.
Educational inequity remains one of the biggest hurdles in our society. Project Udaan provides remedial classes to government school students from Standard 5th to 8th — children who cannot yet read, write, or perform basic arithmetic. Through individual assessments and community-based teaching, we build the foundational skills every child deserves, with a focused lens on girl child education and social emotional learning.
Menstrual health remains a deeply stigmatised and neglected issue in underserved communities across India — causing girls to miss school, face shame, and lack access to safe hygiene. Project Saathi breaks these taboos by distributing eco-friendly sanitary pads and running awareness sessions in schools and communities. We believe menstrual dignity is not a privilege — it is a fundamental right of every girl and woman.
Project Saar is Koru's newest initiative — born from the belief that lasting change must address not just education or environment, but the economic and social fabric of communities themselves. Saar works to identify, strengthen, and amplify the essence of what makes a community resilient. Details of this programme are currently being developed in close collaboration with the communities we serve — watch this space as Saar takes shape.
One mission.
Every number represents a real person — a child who now reads, a community that now segregates waste, a girl who no longer misses school.
