When new products were introduced into our country for convenience, they failed to educate us on how to dispose them scientifically and this ignorance led to the current state we are in. It is therefore very important to educate our youth to understand this concept, being responsible and implement their learning to make our country a better place. And school is the place to do that. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\nOne of the biggest challenges that India still reels with, even after 75 years of independence, is the education disparity, especially in the tribal or backward sections of society. As per the ASER 2024 report, among students of Std 3, only 30% could do basic subtraction, and only 25% could read basic-level English. With this in mind, Koru Foundation\u2019s Project Udaan provided me a great opportunity to volunteer as a Project Coordinator in Jamshedpur. It provided remedial classes to children in primary and secondary classes to ensure foundational literacy and numeracy. It gave me deep insight into various stakeholders involved in education, be it the DEC, principal, parents, or children themselves. Koru has been doing a deeply impactful job, with a creative and innovative pedagogy to instill critical thinking among children. I will always be grateful for the opportunity and extend my best wishes to the team.
